Settings and buttons The first step and the branches of the first step can be given names. These names are repeated in the next steps, but may be abbreviated, even to just the first letter. Dimensions The number of steps and the number of branches determine the size of the tree diagram. The tree can very quickly outgrow the size of the screen or paper. The number of steps and the number of branches are therefore limited. Probabilities Each branch has a probability associated with it. This can be denoted by a fraction, a decimal or a percentage. View The table shows the outcomes and the accompanying probabilities. You can also specify the numbers “entering” the tree at the start and you then see how they are distributed among the different possibilities. Handout The drawing of tree diagrams is a time consuming job. With a handout you can set up the content of the tree diagram and then print it out.
