With a variable of the type label an integer is used as a code for the text. So it is possible that, for example,  1 means “boy” and 2 means “girl”.

You can assign an integer to each label. You can sort labels and do calculations (not advisable) on the integer codes.

In the data table you can use the button Labels to choose whether to see the integers or the labels. Graphs and tables show the labels.

There are no limits to the number of labels.
