After the selection of this option you are first asked to choose the variables, unless only one variable is valid. You can use more, even all variables at the same time with the >> button. On the right-hand side of the screen there are a number of choice possibilities and buttons.

 

Variable

With this button you can select a different variable.

 

Divide

With the divide-option you can divide the data into subgroups. For example, you can divide a file of students into a group of male students and a group of female students.

Each subgroup has columns in the table.

 

Title

With this button you can make a title for the image. This title may make the picture more clear when you make a print.

 

Classes

There are standard classes, but you can also create classes.

 

Percentages

The frequencies are presented in percentages

Cumulative

Here you select a cumulative table.

 

Dataplot/Export

The table is exported to Dataplot. In dataplot it is possible to make graphs with the frequency table data.

In a frequency table data are organized into classes.
Exporting a frequency table from Data analysis to Data Plot
the variable of the first column of the table therefore will be a type text variable.
To be able to calculate data organized into classes usually  the midpoints of the classes are used.

In Dataplot a column containing these class midpoints should be added by hand.

In case of only integers in the first column, you can change the type of text into integer.

wissel  With this button you can switch between Dataplot and Data analysis.

 

Pull-down menu

These options are also available from the pull-down menu below Frequency table. In the pull-down menu you can turn off the panel on the right-hand side with the menu option Buttons.

 

Buttons

printer  With the print button you obtain a print option and options to copy the graph to the clipboard, send to  Word,  or save as file.

 

help  Offers help on the item currently being processed.

 

uitgang  You leave the active window and return to the previous window.

 

word  The graph is immediately pasted into Word..
