Variables

Top  Previous  Next

Every variable has a number of properties:

- name:  often an abbreviation to indicate the meaning of the variables,

- type: Integer, number, label, text or multiple-response,

- comment: this is not essential, but it is often very useful,

- auto number this is determined by the order in which the variables are entered.

There are five types of variables:

Number
Integer
Text
Label
Multiple-response

Change or create variables in Data Variables

You obtain a design grid for the variables. You type the name of the variables and enter the type. A comment is not obligatory, but it is convenient, because the comment appears in several windows. New variables can be inserted with the + button or added at the bottom of the grid.

Change or create variables in the data table

In the data table you can right-click in an empty column. A window appears in which you can enter a variable. Right-clicking in the column of an existing variable gives you several options to editor delete the variable.

Select variables

You can make a selection of the variables in the following ways.

- In the menu View  > View Variables by making a choice from the variables you see in the data table.

- In the menu File > Output  by making a choice from the variables to export to printer or file.
