Every variable has a number of properties: - name: often an abbreviation to indicate the meaning of the variables, - type: Integer, number, label, text or multiple-response, - comment: this is not essential, but it is often very useful, - auto number this is determined by the order in which the variables are entered.
There are five types of variables:
Change or create variables in Data Variables You obtain a design grid for the variables. You type the name of the variables and enter the type. A comment is not obligatory, but it is convenient, because the comment appears in several windows. New variables can be inserted with the + button or added at the bottom of the grid.
Change or create variables in the data table In the data table you can right-click in an empty column. A window appears in which you can enter a variable. Right-clicking in the column of an existing variable gives you several options to editor delete the variable.
Select variables You can make a selection of the variables in the following ways. - In the menu View > View Variables by making a choice from the variables you see in the data table. - In the menu File > Output by making a choice from the variables to export to printer or file. |
